A Guillotine damper is a type of isolation damper that uses sliding blade (often called as Disc) to block the flow and can be designed in rectangular shape or round shape as per ductwork.
They offer positive, tight shut-off sealing efficiency in range of 95% – 100%. These dampers are well suited for high – temperature & high pressure conditions, used mainly for isolation, minimising pressure drops and controlling flow from large duct systems, chimneys etc.

Working Principle of Guillotine Damper
The working principle is simple; it involves the movement of blade (disc) that slides vertically within the track systems. When fully retract the blade stops the flow in the duct system. When in Open condition it allows the airflow.
